Not just for kids…
I ordered a few of these for mothers day weekend. It was supposed to be rainy, so I hosted brunch for my girlfriend and future MIL. Drawn canvases are done so often for “Paint & Sips” this was a game changer. The paint is a little thin. So layers, but it drys quickly…also the paint is thinner to allow the light to shine through.

I expected a little more glow so it could shine through the paint a little better, but I’m not complaining about a night light. (!!!!It is NOT as bright as advertised!!!!!) You’re mostly paying for the paints, that you PROBABLY won’t use half of (I sure didn’t) but it DOES work well, and it does look cute. The paint is a bit waxy which is weird but it actually has good coverage, it’s best to get another paint brush, a BIGGER one, if you’re going to do a big area, since the ones provided are kinda small

Packaging is terrible.

It looks exactly as pictured. Arrived in a timely matter. It is definitely alot smaller than I thought. Read the product dimensions. Comes with a a wide variety of paint colors to utilize. My son was excited he loves cats. This runs off of batteries no cord or options to plug in.

Dried up paint
I bought this for my granddaughter but when I opened up the paint colors, they were dried up. Very disappointing. The light itself is great, its sturdy, lights up, and is a nice nightstand size for a childs room.I give the toy itself 5 stars but the paints 0 stars.

A fun project!
I purchased two of these and painted them with my aunt. She really enjoyed it! It is nice that the paint, a paintbrush, and a paint tray are included with the light up cat sculpture. The only thing I would change would be perhaps a paint that goes on to the material thicker. Paint was a bit thin

Cute, fun activity!
Smaller than we thought but I hadn’t checked the size. With the first coat of paint it looks kinda streaky, I’m hoping that with a second coat it will look more smooth. That said, they are cute and fun to paint. They are a tough plastic so not easy to break. It’s a fun kit and a fun activity and even if you don’t paint them they are cute. Worth the money, would totally buy again.

I got these for my 10 yr old granddaughter to paint. She loved them. She insisted both of us paint one. The paint is acrylic. Some of the paint we got was a little thick and didn’t seem fresh. BUT I am an artist so I had plenty of acrylic paint in my house. We used some of the paint from the kit and some of my supply. My granddaughter and I had a lot of fun painting them. It does come with batteries already installed. The button kind. There is a little piece of plastic stopping the batteries from lighting up until your ready. You just pull it out and turn on. The light was just the right amount. They light up really well. My granddaughter was very happy with the results. So was I. I highly recommend this kit. I am going to purchase more of them and the others for the rest of my grandchildren to try.

It’s great!
This was a hit with my soon-to-be 8 yo granddaughter! We shared in the experience of her painting it. A wonderful experience I recommend. She painted it a light blue since some reviewers mentioned a dark color or double coats of paint could restrict the amount of light emitted from the bear. The paints were too thick so we added a little water and that worked great. I definitely recommend this project. Yes, the bear is only 3” tall but that didn’t seem to bother my granddaughter.

Fun crafts, not great result as light
I got the 2 cat set to do with my daughter. She chose laying down cat and I took the upright one. Took us a while to decide how to paint them, but once we did we got started and it was fun because we like to paint. The paints come with a lot of colors. But they’re pretty dry, so needed to be mixed with water and then clumps worked out before using. The paints stick nicely to the base but require multiple coats to really cover the white base. Our biggest disappointment came when she decided to see what they looked like with the light turned ON! Shock, horror, sadness.. after all our work they look TERRIBLE as nightlight! The light is a good brightness if you don’t care what it actually looks like though. That’s why these only got 3 stars from me.

Nice activity for a rainy day or a birthday party
This is a neat little craft kit that includes a silicone night light (the same kind you’ll find shaped like different animals and used as baby night lights). It’s about the size of a coffee mug. If you’ve ever had one of these, they’re soft and flexible and translucent white. It comes with a button cell battery included: just pull out the tab, flip the switch and a light inside lights up (I wish the whole figure would light up equally bright, but it’s really an LED focused around the middle).What’s different between this and other night lights is that the kit includes acrylic paint that you can use to paint the silicone. They’re pretty generous with the paint: there are 12 colors included and two paintbrushes, one thin and one thicker. It also comes with a little plastic palette and some shiny stickers.The first thing you need to realize is that unless your child is a budding genius or you have a professional artist in the family, your dog will look nothing like the photos, which of course are included for reference only. But what’s nice is that whatever your child paints, it’ll be their unique creation.The paint washes off easily, but it will get all over the place, so I’d recommend a smock.It’s a fun activity which will take a good 30 minutes or so to finish; perfect for a relatively low cost birthday party activity that results in a favor which the kids can take home.As with most of these products that come directly from the manufacturer, don’t expect a professional looking package or any instructions. But in this case the instructions are pretty self-explanatory.I was disappointed that my paint came with the black open already, so it was completely dried out. One thing I don’t really love either is that the acrylic paint looks “blotchy” when you turn the nightlight on, especially with the more coats of paint you have. It would have been nice to have some kind of clear stain instead of regular poster paint.Overall, not a bad craft kit, and you’ll have leftover paint that you can use to paint other things. We were pretty happy with it, but don’t expect the highest quality materials.

Cute idea
If your kid enjoys painting, they’ll probably get more fun out of this. When I sat down with my niece to paint, she only added a little color before getting bored and deciding to finish later. I think it’s because it has a large surface, and young kids with short attention spans might not stay focused. However, having a night light she could decorate herself was something my niece was super excited about.

Very cute DIY
These are such cute little items to DIY! They would be great for kids or adults. The paint is not a thick consistency…I would normally say that as a bad thing but since you are painting over something that will be lit up a little transparency is a good thing in this case. The brushes however are not great so I would add some better ones if you plan to give this as a gift.

nice but not as pictured
My biggest complaint about this product is that none of the product images portray it accurately.If you look closely at the photos (or, more precisely, the ‘images’) in the product listing, you’ll see they are mockups that are impossible to accomplish in real life. Don’t expect anyone to paint this thing to look anything like any of those images. I wouldn’t be so bothered by the use of mockups if they also included real-to-life photos as well, for both scale (it’s a lot smaller than most of those images suggest) and realistic outcomes.That said, it’s a cute little set. My daughter loves cats and is an artist. She was a tad frustrated by the paint. Also, I think it’d benefit from a top coat of something glossy.We LOVE that it lights up.As a last word of warning, please notice that many of the reviews here are for vastly different products. Yes, other kid-paint-craft products, but they’re not all these animal lamps. I’ve been a seller before and understand the temptation, but it’d be more ethical to start a separate listing for the lamp animals.

Simple but fun
“Goodyking Paint Your Own Cat Lamp Kit” is a thin plastic cat with a single LED and three small LR44 batteries (included) that give off a dim light through the translucent package.It came with 12 colors which was more than I expected. There is plenty of paint to cover the whole cat. The glow is dim which is great for a nightlight but the LR44 batteries I’m sure won’t last long. I wonder why they didn’t include a USB port or a AAA holder?Good fun though, probably 6-8 years old or else for a playful adult.

Absolutely Adorable
These are the cutest. My kids (4 and 6) had a great time painting them, the light is really bright and I would def recommend. We had an issue on one of them and the seller was really responsive and helpful, which I appreciate.
