Nothing grew
We received this the beginning of Aug and 4 weeks later still nothing has grown. I reached out to customer service and because I didn’t keep the box they told be too bad, there’s nothing they can do. Very disappointing! It’s cute but pointless when it doesn’t grow like it’s supposed to.

Glowing Disappointment: Creativity for Kids Grow ‘N Glow Terrarium Kit – A Dim Experience!
The Creativity for Kids Grow ‘N Glow Terrarium Kit promised a magical gardening adventure for young minds, but alas, it turned out to be a dim, disappointing endeavor.Firstly, the assembly instructions are like navigating a maze in the dark. It’s as if they were written in a language only known to the creators of the kit. For parents trying to guide their little ones, it’s a frustrating puzzle that drains the fun out of the activity. The planting materials provided were as scarce as water in a desert. It’s like they wanted us to grow a thriving garden with just a thimble of soil and a sprinkle of seeds. The result? A barren terrarium that looked more like a desert wasteland. The glow feature was nothing short of a letdown. The “glow” is like a firefly with stage fright – barely noticeable. It’s disappointing for the kids who were expecting a mesmerizing glow but got a feeble flicker.Durability is where this kit truly falls flat. The plastic components are as fragile as glass slippers, making the terrarium a one-time wonder. It’s like Cinderella’s carriage – it may have looked beautiful, but it turned back into a pumpkin by midnight. In summary: Creativity for Kids Grow ‘N Glow Terrarium Kit, a garden of letdowns. It’s like planting seeds of excitement and reaping a harvest of disappointment. With confusing instructions, scarce materials, a lackluster glow, and flimsy components, this kit doesn’t grow creativity; it grows frustration. Look elsewhere for a truly illuminating gardening experience.

Great project
I bought this for my son for Christmas . I am an avid plant collector/grower. He enjoys watching my plants grow so figured we try this to see if he enjoyed it. The seeds were good seeds and it started growing quickly. It’s gotten so tall we had to remove the cover!

To Teach Lessons About The Digital Age And Its Crazy Instant-Gratification To My Nephews
Bought one each for my nephews (8 and 10). The more creative of the two was very excited about it as he loves putting things like that together. The other… well, if he keeps up with it, I’m sure he’ll like it too, but even if he doesn’t, this time I don’t much care. I wanted a gift for them both that relied on their responsibility to it (the thing needs to be put together and you have to take care of the whole thing at first) and was not something that was ‘instant gratification’. I do hope they like them, but I also want to teach them that not everything is instantly available in the digital age – a world full of many places and products and people that attempt just that. The expectation is these days that everything is fast or instant, and that’s not a reasonable thing to me. I want my nephews to see the time it takes for Nature to grow, as well as the resilience Nature shows. I know they may not get these lessons, or care about them, but Auntie can only try to teach them. Technology is a great tool, but this pace that is now expected because of it is obscene to me. But a seed is a seed, and you get nothing from it without resources, responsibility, dedication and time. It is not something you can really rush, and even the quickest-growing plant still takes some time. If nothing else, at least the younger one was excited about it.

So cute and fun!
This terrarium is so cute and fun to do with your child, it says 6+ but I was able to do this with my 4 year old. She enjoyed the process and loved the outcome. Be sure to read the directions well, it insures plant growth and a very happy kid. The steps are clear and simple. Within 3 days, sure enough we had little sprouts. And she also can see the little roots run down the inside through the layers of soil and colored sand. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is, the stickers don’t glow in the dark as they state they do. That was a huge let down. Otherwise fun, giftable and worth the money.

Got this for 3 year old and he night have been too young
It says for ages 6-8. Maybe 4 or 5 would have worked, but 3 was a bit young. He just made a mess LOL. It was all good fun, though. There is a lot going on with this one from the rocks to the stickers and figurines.

Great little terrarium kit for kids of all ages. Recommended.
There’s nothing fancy here. The plastic equivalent of a mason jar, some potting soil, some seeds. The thing is, all the hard work of making a terrarium has been done for you:- Some ventilation holes punched out of the jar lid- Seed selection made, with seeds that grow quickly and are sized well (with respect to grown size) for the terrarium- Soil and pebbles clean and bright- etc. This lets kids get down to the fun part, i.e. actually putting everything together and then watering and watching, while skipping the parts of the project that might bore them if you did this from scratch (i.e. the adult having to track down a mason jar, matching lid, and then punch holes in it with a hammer and nail, for example). The final result is attractive, the seeds in our kit grew quickly (about 24 hours in we had sprouts) and well, and it was manageable for kids, who were able to take ownership of the project and feel proud of the results. It’s cheap, it looks good, it works, and it teaches something about biology/botany and something about responsibility (e.g. watering to keep the plans growing).Easy win all around at this price.

Cheap
The first one came with a cracked dome. I arranged for a replacement of my granddaughter’s Christmas gift though she didn’t want to let it go. The second one came cracked also. Again she just wanted to make do with her broken gift. She loves it.

Great for kids
Bought this for my daughter. It’s a neat little project but I will warn you it does come with way more seeds than you will need. Use them sparingly. If you use too much it won’t last long because the roots need space. Also make sure you put them on the backside or else it will get overgrown and won’t show the little figurine that comes with it. Growth only takes a few short days. But works well.

Highly recommended
This terrarium is worth every cent you spend on it. Before buying it, I read the reviews and was concerned about the mold and the lack of growth, but I gave it a chance and it’s been worth it! We did this as a Valentine’s Day project. I like that I had the opportunity to teach my son that reading instructions is important, and I even made the mistake of not reading all of the instructions before starting to put everything together. However, I do have to say that the instructions are not clear about saving a portion of the soil for a second layer on the top. You can see it in the picture, but it’s not written. Additionally, the amount of glowing sand is tiny, it’d be nice if they included more. To conclude, I do recommend this product. We had fun putting everything together and seeing it grow! Very nice memory to have!

Excellent for kids interested in gardening!!!!!
Awesome! I chose this over so many others, unsure which one my son would like. He’s interested in gardening (!) and wasn’t sure where to start. I chose this one, and he absolutely loved it. It grew so fast, & he was so excited every day to see how it had changed. He loved it so much, we bought it for our nephew. My sister and brother in law seemed a bit baffled as to why (as did our nephew, it wasn’t on his list!!!), but I think that by now, he’ll have gotten an idea why it was so fun. You get to see it grow so fast. It has all kinds of things in it to decorate it, actually inside and outside, including glow in the dark stickers, and a little bunny rabbit. It was fantastic, and he loved it, and is now interested in what else they sell. My husband really wants to try out the venus fly traps, I’m not sure we’re ready for that one yet! In trying to describe those plants to our son, he looked a little unsure. My son has a GREAT imagination! We may try something else first, maybe get my husband the flytrap 🙂

Wow! You kind of can’t mess this up.
The media could not be loaded.
My daughter got this terrarium for Christmas. She was very excited to use it. She is 6 years old. We followed all the directions except the one that says not to put in a ton of seeds! Somehow we missed that. If you put in too many seeds, it can supposedly crowd the plants and hinder growth. Not the case here! We got tons of growth. I feel like this is a foolproof terrarium and great for little kids because you are pretty much guaranteed to grow something. We were worried that nothing would grow because the roots would choke each other out, but we have tons of growth. My daughter is very excited. Another thing that happened was she tilted the jar to look at something and all the layers got messed up before any of the plants had grown. Still worked. I am telling you, you really can’t screw this up. One thing that is hard is getting the butterfly wings on. She tried to do it on her own and it ripped a little, but that didn’t matter. We ended up taking it off anyway. My daughter also chose to take out some of the decor inside the jar because she wanted the plants to have as much room to grow as possible! It is very satisfying when you buy something that actually works out!

Nice exercise, easy to overwater
Fun and nifty kit to build and nurture a terrarium. The kit comes with a clear glass jar, seeds, decorative stickers for your jar and colored sand to build interesting visual layers. The seeds are a blend of organic microgreens (broccoli, cabbage, kale and kohlrabi) and the end result is that within 7 days you’ll have edible microgreens to snip up top to add to your salad or sandwiches. Instructions are very simple and once the jar has been setup all you’ll need to do is monitor once a day for watering.

Wonderful gift for little kids to start their love of planting!
I bought this for my four year old grand daughter to enjoy after reading really good reviews. They live in Los Angeles and so this could be a reason it has done so well but I also think it is just a good product! They opened it three weeks ago and assembled it right away! My grand daughter wanted to do it herself they did not split the soil and rocks and sand and used only half of the seeds. She was SO excited to wake up everyday and go and check her garden. She did break the little mister that came with it on the first day but it was because she was allowed to play with it. So all they did was gently use their hands to sprinkle water on it each day just enough to get first layer a little wet. After about 4-5 days they started seeing the seeds grow and each day just more and more. They said if you would have put a camera on it you probably could have seen it grow before your eyes it was that fast! We are three weeks past give or take a few days and this is the result! It has been a WONDERFUL gift to give my grand daughter and to see her excitement over her own “garden” and having her see the day to day changes. She also LOVES seeing the roots all through out it is really cool she says. They said they don’t know if they will cut it or just let it keep growing! Covid garden. Grass is now four or five inches over rim just waiting for butterflies!

Six year old loves to garden.
Bought this for my six year old granddaughter who has recently expressed an interest in gardening. So needless to say she loves her Ready to Grow Garden. Her garden looks like the picture on the box. She loved watching the plant grow knowing she had a hand in making it happen. Grows fast so you don’t have to wait a long time to see results.

So much fun with your little one
My daughter is absolutely over the moon about this product. Especially the caterpillar I thought it was going to be I half plastic casting however it’s like a clay figurine. She had fun placing the stickers and watching it grow and they give you enough seeds to do a few times. This was one of her favorite Christmas presents she loves the hungry caterpillar.

Big hit at Christmas
My littles loved these so much! We put a charcoal brickette in the bottom of them prior to the dirt because I read it helps keep the biome healthy. (Filters it) We had a blast making them look good and I loved that it made memories instead of just giving them toys. Great price and quality, very happy with them.

Fun that lasts forever!
This picture is taken four months after the seeds were planted. My child loved putting in all of the layers, but make sure you help them to read which layer goes in first. If not, no worries, just shake up the jar and mix everything together. The wheat will still grow. Supet cute, affordable; and fun. What a great gift idea for any gender 10 and under!

Awesome gift!
Bought this terrarium for a 5 year old. It’s so cute! It was a fun activity for him to do, layering all the sand and carefully putting in the seeds and little character that it comes with. He had fun decorating the outside with the stickers too. The seeds sprouted fairly quickly; within a few days. They lasted a couple weeks and then died, good thing about this product is it came with a lot of seeds so we can definitely pull out the dead sprouts and plant new ones all over again. I would definitely recommend this for a little one !

Mostly great
My 4 year old really enjoyed this, I helped him with it. It was easy to do and kept him busy for a little bit. Our only complaint is that the stickers did not glow at all, and we tried leaving it in direct sun and lamp light for awhile but they just wouldn’t glow at all, which was what my kid was hoping most for. Otherwise, it was a fun little project that didn’t cost much.

Rating a 4 because the box says it takes 3-4 days for the seeds to sprout. Ours took about 2 and a half weeks but once they sprouted they grew so fast! And not all of the stickers they come with glow in the dark. Only the stars glow which sucks for the kids bc there’s all sorts of stickers and only maybe 5 glow in the dark.

It worked for the most part.
I’d recommend this product for an 7-10 year old. The set came with everything that was in the description and the packaging was in great condition. Putting it together is very easy and honestly doesn’t take much effort and is pretty fun. The only problem is that that’s where the interactive part kind of ends. If you are planning to buy this for a younger kid, they might have fun assembling it but the only thing left to do afterwards is wait. It doesn’t have anything else you’d spend a lot of time on, so this is not a time-consuming gift or activity. Of course, that has nothing to do with the product itself, but do keep that in mind if you want to get this as an activity. The seeds did eventually grow and the plant was healthy, but for some reason the little plastic jar had a horrible smell. I am not sure which part of the bottom layer or section it is, but something in the soil smelled so bad we ended up leaving the poor plants outside. The plants persevered and somehow managed to live for a few weeks afterwards outside, but the smell was still there and was really off-putting.
