Great little ice maker for small spaces.
We wanted to get a small ice maker for our bar area in the kitchen. Our freezer has an ice maker, but the ice tends to get stale, as it sits there over time. We also wanted something that we could move out of the way if we needed the space, and something that didn’t need a water hookup. This checks all of the boxes for us. It’s small and compact, but it produced ice quite quickly. I think they say 6 minutes, but we were getting ice faster than that. The other cool thing is that as long as you keep adding water, it will just keep adding ice. Now, if you have a lot of people this may not keep up, but for smaller gatherings, of, say, 20 people or so, when not everyone is getting a drink at the same time, this keeps up splendidly. We tested it when we had a number of people over for a football game recently. The ice isn’t “pebble” ice, but it is soft and easily chewed. For some of us, this is a plus, as we like to chew to softer ice. Still, it doesn’t melt too quickly, and the smaller pieces tend to chill the drink better. Cleaning is also pretty easy. They don’t recommend it, but I imagine you could run vinegar through the system if you have hard water and want to keep the scale build up to a minimum.Overall, this has been a pleasant addition to our kitchen. We’ve used it a few times now, and it’s been working well. This would also be nice for a small apartment, or any area where space is at a premium. I’d definitely recommend it.

More compact than my last ice maker
I have a traditional counter top ice maker that we used a lot for parties. By traditional, I mean it fills from the top and it is heavy. You need room on your counter between the counter and the cupboards above it, so for me, I had to pull it out to get the clearance above it to fill and remove ice. This ice maker caught my eye because of the space saving feature, as well as the drawer element for filling and removing. The ice itself is identical to my old machine; cone shaped in two sizes. I use the larger size because there is no insulation in the machine to keep the ice from melting, so I use the bigger size for a little safeguard if I don’t get it out quick enough. It works pretty much the same as my other machine, with the exception of filling the tray rather than the machine itself. The water dumps down into a reservoir, then pumps up to the cooling spikes which form the ice. Then the ice drops into the empty tray.I will say the water capacity is smaller, but that fits with the more compact design. And in reality you’re doing the same thing as with other models anyway, which is just filling with water and dumping.the ice in the freezer. Don’t expect to just set it to make ice and walk away and think it will be there waiting for you, frozen and ready. Any countertop ice maker requires the same amount of attention to it, with filling and dumping frequently. Any melting of the ice will drip down into the reservoir to be pumped up to make more ice.Overall, I do like it more for the compact design and it’s easier to fill than my old one.

Works fast
I do believe this is the fastest ice maker we’ve ever had. You add the water and like 3 minutes later the bin is full of ice. It’s easy to use. Now the amount of ice it makes in one cycle is enough for 2 glasses but it will make another batch in 3 minutes. It’s a great little machine.

HiCOZY Left My High Hopes Dashed
I ordered this HiCOZY Ice Maker Countertop,Ice in 6 Mins, 24 lbs/Day, Portable & Compact Gift with Self-Cleaning,for Apartment/Under Cabinet/Kitchen/Office/Camping/RV/Home Bar (Dark). The good: This is a relatively compact ice machine and I appreciate that it takes up less space on my counter than some other models I’ve seen. Machine is easy to drain and dry out; open the drain over the sink and all the water gushes out.The bad: In about 6 minutes (though more like 12, the very first time I ran it) it will make… six ice cubes. There is almost no difference in size between the small and large cubes. If you wait until the little drawer-bucket is full of ice – about an hour – the first cubes have started melting already. When you go to pour out the bucket into a container (perhaps an ice bucket or a bin for your freezer) you end up dumping water along with the cubes, so then when they are in the freezer and get quite frozen they all stick together. You would need to take out the ice cubes every time they drop and put six cubes at a time into your bucket/bin to avoid having cubes that stick and clump together. This is not feasible.I thought long and hard about this machine before writing this review. I was really excited to try this ice maker and really wanted it to be amazing for our needs, but it’s not. Its pros and cons end up balancing this to be an average machine. I’m pretty disappointed.

Really does make ice in 6 min
Open the drawer and fill with water to the MAX line – do not overfill. Consider getting one of these table top mats as well. You get 2 sizes of cubes, small and large, and there’s a round end and what mist be a pin mandrel that freezes the water. Cubes dump into the tray, and the extra water just recirculates. You can make a bin of ice easy in a day. I wish the unit had a beep when the bin was full, so you just need to watch the display that says bin full or out of water. There is a drain on the bottom to remove the water when not in use. Simple to drain, and this allows the unit to dry out.

Makes Ice Efficiently And It Will Make It In Six Minutes!
I was skeptical that this would be able to make ice in as little as six minutes, but it does! This is easy to use and makes “soft ice” like you’d find in a restaurant or convenience store. It doesn’t take up much room and is pretty much no hassle. They recommend using this after the bin is cleaned and it has been sitting upright for six hours. All you’ve got to do is fill the bin with clean water, turn it on, select your cube size, and hit the start button. Within about six to eight minutes, you’ll get the first handful of cubes. These are the nice soft ice cubes that you’re used to seeing in restaurants or convenience stores with drink machines. A little water goes a long way and you can pretty much leave this alone to do it’s thing. Over time if a little of the ice melts in the bin the water will end up trickling back down into the bottom and will be turned into cubes again. So even if you let it sit it will continue making ice until you’re ready to use it.When you’re done with it for awhile you can simply unplug it, empty the bin, and open the drain over your sink to clear it out. Just let it dry out properly and it’s ready to go for the next time you need ice. This is great for someone who doesn’t have an automatic ice maker on their fridge and doesn’t want to fill trays to keep in the freezer. This is a little more expensive than some other ice makers that are available, but it’s probably a little better than most of them. I’m very happy so far. It makes my life better and it’s worth your consideration.

Works well, could be enough for a few people
Yes, it’s small, as expected, but it works well. The ice container also looks small but it holds more Ice than expected in my opinion. It doesn’t take long to produce ice so you can keep it going, and while there’s supposed to be a difference between the large and small ice blocks, I didn’t notice a significant size difference. That’s not really an issue, though. In my case, the ice created stayed slightly wet, probably because the new ice falls into the bin where the water was previously stored. Still, I expected it to get drier at some point but it never did. This could be due to the room temperature in my kitchen.Overall, it works fine for regular ice needs, and as said if you need a constant provision of ice just keep it working.

Countertop ice maker
This is my first time using an ice maker, so I don’t have much to compare it to. It took less than 10 minutes to make ice cubes, and the size of the cubes is perfect for cold drinks. The machine is relatively small, making it great for use on a kitchen counter. However, it needs to be drained after each use, and the drainage comes from the bottom of the machine, which can be tricky when draining into the sink. The machine is a bit heavy to carry, so holding it while draining is the only issue I’ve encountered so far. I haven’t tried the cleaning feature yet. Overall, it’s a straightforward, easy-to-use ice maker, and I would recommend it.

compact ice maker is good for a small camper, but it is slow
compact ice maker is good for a small camper, but it is slowThis ice maker is nice and compact, making it great for small spaces. It measures 11.5″ tall, 12″ deep, and 7″ wide. There is a small tray that you can fit under the front lip of the ice maker to catch drips and hold the ice scoop, which adds another couple of inches to the depth, but it is optional, and could also be placed on top of the ice maker. In terms of design, it’s fairly ingenious. The main removable ice bin is used to both add water and to catch the ice. In the water mode, you can tilt it out of the front, and fill water to the fill line. When you push it back in, it opens a valve on the bottom of the bin that drains the water into the holding tank underneath the bin. You can also put water directly into the tank through the bin opening once you remove the bin completely. The ingenious part is that the bin, when it has ice, will recycle any melt from the ice back into the tank. Combined with the removable plastic grid, it keeps your ice out of the water and makes the melt usable for more ice as opposed to waste. The ice maker is pretty quiet during operation. It’s similar in noise level to a desktop computer fan combined with a dorm fridge. The controls are easy to use, although some functions (cleaning and interior light) require a long press on one of the two buttons, so it’s a good idea to keep the manual around.I tested this ice maker using the large ice setting first. I filled it with filtered water from my fridge door (so the water started out cold), and timed how long to get the first ice. It definitely wasn’t 6 minutes, it took 11 minutes and 5 seconds to drop the first ice, which was 6 pieces. After 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 11 seconds, I stopped it. The ice bin was about 90% full and went through 11 total ice cycles, averaging 7.9 minutes per cycle. The ice maker is definitely slow about making ice, even when I started with cold water, so it’s definitely misleading to say “ice in 6 minutes”. I next set it to the small ice setting, but when the first ice came out, which also took around 10 minutes, I couldn’t see any difference in size. The compartment and bin that holds the ice is not insulated in any way, so the ice does start to melt immediately. As more ice goes in, the compartment does cool off and the ice melts slower, but you can’t leave ice in there overnight for example. I haven’t tested this fully, but when ice is removed from the bin and the ice maker is left on, it seems to start making more ice, so if you were to leave it on overnight, it will keep making ice to replace what melts, and what melts will go back into the water tank for reuse. You can turn off the ice maker to prevent this.I suspect this will make 24 pounds of ice per day, but, you’ll have to constantly empty the ice bin every 1.5-2 hours and fill the water tank so it will keep making more. When it comes to adding more water to the tank when there is ice in the bin, you’ll have to add it directly to the tank rather than through the bin. It isn’t hard and there is a max water level mark in there too, just a little hard to see.I am happy with this ice maker overall. I like the design and that it comes with a small scoop and drip tray. It will work well in our popup camper to make ice, since we only have a small fridge in there. On hot camping days it will be nice to have a cold drink. We can also make ice for the cooler as well, since on long trips the small fridge doesn’t cut it. Just be aware that you’ll be waiting more than 10 minutes for your first 6 ice cubes, so plan ahead.

Good for small batches
Ordered this countertop ice maker to use while ripping out and remodeling a kitchen. It produces a small amount of ice (about 6 cups) but produces it quickly and continuously. This is enough for our 2-person household. The ice stays frozen in the container bin and is easy to refill with water. Recommended for students or renters with a small kitchenette or a fridge with no working ice maker.

compact, quick to make ice,
Its very compact, and is more long than wide on the countertop, so its great for condo or apartment living. It also requires no direct water line hookup, with an easy to fill water tank. And it produces ice fairly quickly after set up. It will serve a couple most certainly with enough ice for daily use. The water tank needs filling once a day.

Great ice at home.
This ice machine is so nice. It is so simple to use and we can now have fresh made ice at anytime right here at home. We can select from two different sizes too. The machine has several indicator lights to easily select power, ice size or self cleaning. It also lets us know when the ice bucket is full and when we need to add water. It doesn’t take up a lot of room either.

cool ice quickly

This countertop ice maker is pretty cool. Makes ice quickly and is impressive. Doesn’t take up too much space. Well built. Exactly as described and delivers the ice as fast as they state. Really nice unit.

Very small tray and water reservoir
The machine probably works fine, but we were looking for a larger capacity. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but the ice making rate was equal to our old machine. Nonetheless we returned it.
