works like a charm.. .
After several ideas at getting my old Samsung (2017) TV to work, I thought about ROKU. OMG ! Why didn’t I think of this sooner. I’m so happy about this purchase and I’m even happier about the channel lineup. Get one. You won’t be disappointed.

Direct Fit, Works as Expected
This was a great sort of “converter” for essentially turning an older model of flat screen TV into a Smart TV. Basically plug and play with simple installation and instructions. No issues for us and cheaper than buying a new TV, making old (but useful) equipment last a full lifetime.

Remote control designs is nonsensical
I bought the Roku to replace a Firestick that just seemed to die. There’s not a big difference between them and the Roku has the channels that I stream. My major concern is the design of the remote control. Whoever designed it needs to go back and get more training on how humans use tools. The volume and mute buttons are on the SIDE of the remote and so I’m constantly muting or changing volumes when I change streaming channels or use other functions. I’m sure that 99% of people hold a remote control by its sides and I don’t see why the designers of the Roku remote didn’t consider that fact as well.

Mom is happy but small remote not ideal
My 67 year old mother now has so many more channels to watch for free. She refuses to let me get her cable so this was a perfect compromise. Only downside is the remote is small and difficult for her to see the buttons. Roku should make a senior-friendly remote!

Extremely easy to install
Very easy to install and program. It only took me maybe 5 mins to program. Works great if you already have WiFi. It will connect right to your existing account and then just install apps and put in your user name and password and your good to go.

Easy to use
Roku is easy to use and works better with my streaming service than other streaming devices. I have no problem losing connection or having problems with remote. It all works well.

Perfect
Even though the hardware that drives the Roku is similar to that of a Samsung Note 4 2014, the Roku software makes the hardware optimized down to the smallest detail, it’s perfect.

Works fairly well. Some problems but we are saving money.
It works most of the time. Twice we have to had to turn off the internet and then back on to get it to restart. We are using it for Spectrum. You have to turn it on 3 times to get it to work with Spectrum. Strange. It will say keep watching Spectrum? But this does nothing and you have to go back to home and select Spectrum again. Why? We also get buffering. The thing I don’t like about the control is the mute button is on the side and I hit it by accident when I pick it up. We are saving enough money not renting the Spectrum box that we are willing to put up with these things. It could be better though.

The Ultimate Streaming Solution – Roku Streaming Stick 4K
I’ve been using the Roku Streaming Stick 4K for a few weeks now, and I must say, it has completely transformed my home entertainment experience.**Pros:**1. **Stunning Picture Quality:** The 4K, HDR, and Dolby Vision support provide an incredibly sharp and vibrant picture quality. The colors are vivid, and the details are crystal clear, making movie nights much more enjoyable.2. **Compact and Portable:** The stick’s compact design makes it easy to set up and move around. Whether I’m using it in the living room or taking it on a trip, it’s incredibly convenient.3. **User-Friendly Interface:** The Roku OS is intuitive and easy to navigate. The home screen is well-organized, and I can quickly find my favorite apps and channels.4. **Voice Remote:** The Roku Voice Remote is a fantastic feature. It makes searching for shows, adjusting the volume, and controlling playback so much easier. Just speak into the remote, and it does the rest.5. **Wide Range of Content:** With access to a plethora of streaming services and free live TV, there’s always something to watch. The variety of available channels is impressive, catering to all my entertainment needs.6. **Smooth Performance:** The streaming stick performs flawlessly with minimal buffering. The connection is stable, and the streaming quality remains consistently high.**Cons:**1. **Requires Strong Wi-Fi:** To fully enjoy 4K streaming, a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection is essential. If your Wi-Fi isn’t up to par, you might experience some buffering.2. **Limited Storage for Apps:** While it supports a wide range of apps, the internal storage is limited, so you might need to manage your app installations carefully.Overall, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is an excellent investment for anyone looking to enhance their streaming experience. It’s feature-rich, easy to use, and delivers outstanding picture quality. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and versatile streaming device.

Performed as Advertised and great price.
I returned my Spectrum cable and DVR Box but the Spectrum App doesn’t work on a Fire Stick. So I purchased a Roku Device.I successfully loaded on the Spectrum App and now I can watch all my subscription TV anywhere I travel with this device.

This is my favorite non-LG TV streaming Device
I’ve had experience with a number of devices, and this one is my favorite. My priorities:Fast streaming/minimal lagEasy to navigateAccess to shows of interestAbility to preview as i fast forward or rewindApple TV:ExpensiveCan’t preview or issues with some of the apps that was frustrating. it wanted to rewind or fast foward instead of clicking to the screen section you wanted with a preview. This really killed the device for me.Easy to overshoot if you used the finger swipe option to quickly move fast-forward or rewind.User interface, for the most part is decent and fast except for how navigates while playing.Fire TVBuilt to sell products instead of show shows, laggy, and for whatever reason I hated interacting with this device. Not being able to easily access the content I wanted due to poor organization really rubbed me the wrong way.Pro – ability to bootleg shows, but not something I’m into and I only checked this out during the first weeks of covid.I want to emphasize the lag issues. This is built as cheap as possible to minimally meet requirements to function and it shows.RokuSo, now that I have the other devices out of the way, and ignore my LG streaming which is my favorite, I’ll speak to this device and why it has my vote. This device is surprisingly fast. I didn’t expect a device that was almost as responsive as my apple TV and LG TV. This is slightly slower but barely and no lag which is the most critical thing for me.We got this for the British Bake-off access which led to an unexpected cool thing. The discovery of the free shows, if you don’t absolutely hate commercials. For the complete British Bake-off experience, we mute the commercials. So, the additional channels that Roku provides has made it continue to be useful.Roku allows a preview of channels as I fast forward through it.Roku does have an issues with some apps where I need to log out and go back in so the remote works correctly. I’m not sure if that’s a bad app issue or the device but a quick back and in fixes. The apple device has never crashed or become buggy on me. The Firestick has, but it’s cheap. The price is significantly cheaper than apple making the Roku a no brainer.Unlike the apple TV, which requires counter space, this plugs into the back of the TV and is hidden away. Now, an issue I had when I first turned on is that my remote was not communicating with the device. I was extremely annoyed as this was an early Christmas present for my wife, and I wanted it to function within a certain time window so a return and replace would have ruined it. The device showed the remotes power but didn’t communicate. After resetting the device, the remote works fine now. If you run into an issue, try resetting the device.4k streaming? It’s okay. I didn’t do a side by side. It has 4k.Navigation? It’s simple enough but could be made better. I thought the last version of the Fire TV was worse. The apple TV does shine in this area on most apps I played with. My biggest gripe with navigation in Roku is that marking something as favorite and then LOCATING the favorites from Roku’s channels and free shows, was not intuitive. I did eventually find my favorites, but that was frustrating. Additionally, the channel/app/inventory searching involves clicking to the right instead of down. So, speed is slightly less than Apple, but barely. Navigation is slightly less easy based on the layout vs apple, and i think it’s better than the Fire the last time I used that thing. The Roku has a nice access to misc. free channels. Its price is a quarter of Apple. The fire TV? I don’t consider these two in the same league. So, if you’re picking up a streaming device, I’d recommend the Roku over the other devices (except the LG TV native streaming app which is the best I’ve used). Performance and price are good. The only reason to avoid is if it doesn’t have access to what you want to watch. For me, it filled in the gaps and provided baking shows that we otherwise didn’t have access to.

A great streamer
So I’ve been using Roku devices since their very first one, and one of the main uses these days is to stream my own media on Plex. I’ve been pretty slavish about using the devices from Roku that supported wired ethernet instead of relying on WiFi because I don’t want to deal with buffering or lag, and just didn’t have confidence in WiFi (despite having WiFi-6). Other streaming devices (which shall remain nameless) with WiFi-only connection have disappointed me.My previous Roku died over the holidays and so I took a chance (and a gift card) to try out this Roku 4k stick. I’m glad I did.First off, I needn’t have worried about the WiFi not being up to streaming 4k video from my server. It handles it just fine. It’s a good experience as long as you have a newer router that supports WiFi-6.Second, setup was amazingly easy. They’ve streamlined the whole process, and any apps you were already using on another Roku device are instantly logged in and ready to go. New big-name apps are almost as easy, just requiring a QR code scan and a quick login to the app on your phone. My biggest complaint is that something about this Roku really pumps up the saturation in some of my own home-edited videos. I can’t figure out which setting is making that a thing, but it’s clearly something to do with the way my video editing app saves the video. Roku just isn’t playing nice with it, but that’s not on Roku; that’s in the editor. Everything else, however, looks incredibly good. The interface is snappy, and honestly I was shocked that this stick is faster to load and navigate than my previous Roku Ultra LT.I can think of only one negative point to the stick, and that is that it only works with the special remote it comes with, which I believe is a sort of WiFi direct connection. It won’t support an IR remote nor a Bluetooth one, rendering my universal remote useless for the Roku streaming stick 4k. It also won’t work with most of the stack of previous model Roku remotes I own. And of course, as with every Roku remote, the four quick-launch buttons are a pain in the neck. I only subscribe to one of the services in them, and will likely never subscribe to the others, which means accidentally pressing them is a bit of an obnoxious experience. I understand they’re sponsored and Roku makes money putting them on their remotes and making them permanent, but they could •at least• add two more buttons in there that are fully programmable to access the favorites we actually do subscribe to.The voice search function is handy, but sometimes the screen will prompt you to use the voice search when the normal manual actions are easier and more direct. I don’t really need to press the voice button and say “launch YouTube” when I can just press the OK button on the first app in my list (YouTube) and it launches. However, for searching for a specific movie or show, it’s a great feature. It’s also nice for people who hate typing on screen using directional buttons, as you can speak letter-by-letter to enter email addresses and passwords if need be.Bottom line: I’m impressed. Except for a few minor caveats, it’s a great streaming device that is responsive, intuitive, and provides fantastic video and audio quality, even up to Dolby Atmos in a 4k stream.Five stars.

Works great, not expensive
I have used Roku boxes for many years but have never tried the stick method. I am so pleased. It goes into the back of my tv and does not take up any room.Easy to install and easy to pair the remote to my TV.Great value for the cost. I have had no issues adding channels it has been very reliableThe remote has voice control and it works great. It has the volume control on the sides which is a plus for my husband.

Works very well. Good WiFi, performs fast, versatile
An easy way to enable Roku on any device with HDMI. Tip: use the USB connector on your display/TV if it has one to power this Roku streaming device. Boots up and performs quickly (noticably faster than our TCL Roku TV). Auto adapts to display’s capable resolution. Quite easy to setup (to your existing Roku account plus the included remote). Unclear, but if you have a Roku account, the apps installed on your current devices automatically populate to this device, and MOST apps copy your login(s) also, a HUGE convenience! Due to each app’s requirements, you have to register this device – so have your streaming services login info handy. I hit the online Roku site to order the free short HDMI extensionm, which processed, shipped and arrived quickly. (You might need that if there isn’t physical room to plug in this Roku streaming device directly to your display. One oddity yet unresolved (and not very important): the Roku iPhone app sees this device, but doesn’t work as an additional remote control. That does work on our TCl Roku TV. I’ve attempted no troubleshooting for that, as it’s not very important for this 2nd device, it would be merely a convenience. The remote comes with batteries. Now all of our non-smart TVs have Roku capability. Plus we’ll bring this when travelling – to watch ALL of our Roku services at hotels, Etc. IF it were somehow left behind, we could remove the device from our Roku account if needed.

Our first Roku Stick and we love it!
We’ve had the old hockey puck style Rokus for years, but when it was time to equip a small TV with Roku streaming capability, we decided to give this Roku 4K Stick a try. We’re very pleased with the price (Prime Day), ease of use, and quality of this product. It streams in 4K and is much smaller than the old Roku puck devices. Also, if you have an open USB slot on your TV, you can plug this device into it for power using the supplied chord and have a very clean installation without taking up another power outlet!Note that the supplied cable has an in-line dongle that is necessary for the stick to work properly, so do not buy a smaller USB cable for the installation, just bundle up the extra cord length with a zip tie behind your TV.I was surprised at the 4K quality provided by this streaming stick, it might actually be superior to the puck style Rokus because it plugs directly into an HDMI port and doesn’t rely on the thin HDMI cables that Roku supplies with their other units (which I believe degrade the signal somewhat as it travels the length from the puck Roku to the TV).Another nice thing about this unit is that it uses REPLACEABLE AAA BATTERIES rather than the rechargeable integrated batteries that Roku has been packaging with its other units. We prefer being able to remove the batteries ourselves in order to store the unit without having to worry about the built-in rechargeable batteries degrading over time.Overall, we give it a 5 out of 5 stars and wish that we would have bought these sooner! We also appreciated how quick and easy it was to setup the learning remote, with only a few button presses it was controlling our TV! It was much less hassle than we’ve had with our other Roku devices which take a while to learn how to control the TV and often forget and need to be reprogrammed over time. This small streaming stick is very portable and we will be using it to take Roku streaming with us as we travel to resorts and hotels, since we like having all of our favorite services and channels with us wherever we go.If I could replace all of the old hockey puck Rokus in my house with these, I would, but since we already have them, we will wait until they quit working to transition to Roku 4K Sticks for all of our TVs.

LIFESAVER!
We have an old Vizio TV that doesn’t work with many streaming platforms, and recently stopped working with Netflix. After feeling frustrated that we couldn’t watch TV in our living room, I decided to purchase this Roku stick. The setup was so easy! It took us less than 5 minutes. Since I already have a Roku TV I just had to sign into my account and everything was ready. The quality is also just super great, functions wonderfully, and has a great selection of channels! I am super satisfied and so happy that we can watch TV in our living room again!!

Roku Rocks!!!!!!!!
I adore these Roku devices because they include an easy-to-use remote that works with practically any TV, a robust wifi connection, and access to all the applications you could ever want, including Xfinity. I got an affordable TV in preparation for the Olympics after being bedridden for a spell. I discovered after it arrived that I had purchased a Google TV and was unable to open the Xfinity app. I pay for Xfinity, and occasionally I want to stream content that they have access to, even if the TV had almost every other app. This was the ideal solution. I also use them for trips, plugging them into the televisions in my accommodations.

Absolutely littered with ads, and frequent updates to push even more ads.
As far as Rokus go, this model is easily the most compact and will work for 99% of use cases. The only feature it is really missing compared to a higher end Roku model is a lack of Ethernet port for people who want the strongest possible signal while streaming 4K. Mine also overheated once during the summer but has not done this ever again and it only caused minor inconvenience for a few minutes. What isn’t a minor inconvenience is how many ads there are. I’ve set multiple TVs up with Rokus, and the first thing I did was hide all the extra garbage that pushes movie rentals, RokuTV originals, extra menu options that funnel you into paywalls, etc. In the past year or so of using Roku, I’ve watched my minimalist home screen go from only a list of my apps and a single ad banner on the side, to a constant flood of advertising ploys that you can no longer hide.Like the minimalist purple default Roku home screen? Well too bad, because it’s going to auto-update and change to be entirely themed around Taylor Swift to advertise her tour film. Do you want to see all of your apps on screen at once? Nope, instead you get a massive banner ad that only allows half of the apps to be visible. Paused a video for more than a couple minutes? Roku puts up a cute scrolling screen saver of a city, complete with constantly visible billboards with actual advertisements on them. Did you like how before, you could hide all the leftmost menu options to only have your apps, the store to download new apps, and the settings menu? You are out of luck, because now every couple weeks it seems like Roku updates to add a special seasonal or event menu option (sometimes multiple), so every time you want to look at options on the screen, you have to parse out which ones are functional and which ones are just advertising and directing you to something to pay for.Roku’s software is incredibly scummy and overbearing with ad placement, and at the rate it has been degrading, I imagine within the next year about 80% of all screen real estate, menu options, buttons, etc. will be replaced or pushed to the side in favor of more advertisements. With competitors like Apple TV allowing you to completely hide anything you don’t want to see, you have to wonder if going the cheap route for a Roku is really worth your time and invasion of your personal time.

Roku is the best! We love it! You’ll be happy, has something for everyone
All of our TVs have been transformed by this product. Endless viewing of programming for free without paying for any streaming services. So fun on Roku channel can watch local news in a variety of cities across the United States. Super fun to get local Chicago, NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle, to name a few. That’s the tip of the iceberg with this product. Search a movie or tv show in Roku before selecting your apps and it will show you were it’s free, from there click and it takes you to your subscription based apps. Love it for searching. Fast to open and close apps. Stores your logins so everytime it just opens for you (unless you tell it to log out, older versions had easier time to accidentally log out of netflix, but these new ones are seamless for the user). Love to speak into and get my shows or change searches in youtube etc. And it doesn’t feel like it’s always listening like Siri and Alexa (of course it may be, just doesn’t seem like it). LOVE IT. You’ll be happy, something for everyone.

Problem with remote.
The right directional button doesn’t want to work unless you press hard. Roku knows of this defect and refuses to replace the unit. Read the reviews from other people. I’m not the only one with this problem. And remote goes thru batteries like their candy.

Easy set up
I replaced our other device with this one as the old one no longer got one of our streaming channels. I can now get it again. The set up was easy. However, like all new streaming devices I had to go through the process of logging into the other streaming channels we get. There is a shortcut with a QR code but I used the remote to enter the login data. Not for sure but it appears to have a cleared picture when using the Roku. I recommend this product.

Living in an assisted living Facility, we are limited to the number of programs to watch. I like documentaries and movies. I was amazed how I was able to get all kinds of movies free, Old and New. Great but…
I love all the choices you have with using a roku and especially love my roku tv. My only issue is using the stick you can’t pull in your antenna channels in live tv, although everything tells tells you how to do it. The tv inputs is missing from the settings, therefore you have to watch directly from your tv source if you want to see your local channels

Very user friendly
I purchased this product for my grandma because it is one of the few streaming services that offers Univision (a spanish network). My grandma is very happy and found it to be easier to use than the Amazon Firestick or Apple TV. She is 80 years old so I’m glad that she found it to be more user friendly. Plus, it offers the only network that she likes to watch. Highly Recommend.

Never buying a Fire streaming product again
I am beyond happy with Roku. It’s is leaps and bounds ahead of the Fire UI, especially for only $35. Minimal ads in unobstructive places. All my apps in one place when I click the home button. The home button also turns on the TV and switches the TV input to the Roku. Streams in gorgeous 4k. Quick and reliable button interactions. The remote battery last forever – batteries over the rechargeable. My only gripe is that this version doesn’t let me connect my Bluetooth earbuds for late-night listening. I also have the Ultra, which I highly recommend. However, it’s price point is a big deterrent.

Perfect!
I bought a nice Samsung TV at a thrift shop that worked, but did not have a remote. No problem. Remotes are cheap. Bought the remote, but the TV would not connect to wifi. After a lot of frustration, I discovered this TV came with a blueray player and AR goggles, and the only way to connect it to wifi is through its DVD player. No problem. Got my blueray player, connected it aaaaaaaaaaaaaand could only connect to Netflix, which I don’t subscribe to anymore. Neither the DVD player or the TV were capable of downloading more apps. (Huge sarcastic shoutout to the people who donated the TV and didn’t bother to mention that they kept the equipment required to make said TV “work.” GAHHH) Woke up one morning and remembered that in my box of random computer/device cords, my daughter’d given me a roku stick. Found her package, but it was a ChromeCast and apparently it was so old there’s no support for it anymore. Sigh.By this point I am invested. That thrift store TV is going to work if I have to rebuild it myself. ha. So I ordered this Roku stick, and voila! it recognized the Roku TV in another room, synced up instantly, and now the TV works perfectly. It doesn’t even need the DVD player. The Roku stick does the trick. IDK what the TV sells for new, but I’ve got a 55″-ish TV that works perfectly and total cost was about $75. Thanks, Roku!

It streams
I don’t really have anything to compare this with as far as streaming devices, so this review is really about the Spectrum Streaming App that runs on this Roku stick. I have an LG TV, which is what I use to stream Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc. But I wanted to get rid of my Spectrum Cable TV box and still keep the channels, and the Spectrum Streaming App isn’t available for LG. The Roku includes the Spectrum app and I found the picture to be a better than I had with the set-top box. Coming from the set-top box to the Spectrum app is a big change and I tried to tamp down my expectations… but it is still a big disappointment for me. Not Roku’s fault, and I’ve read that of all the different devices that the Spectrum app is available for, it performs the best on the Roku. The two biggest changes for me are actually things that ARE under Roku’s control: the lack of a number pad on the remote, and the lack of setting for ‘default app’ when turning the Roku on. The up/down arrows and on-screen Spectrum guide would work better if its app weren’t missing some obvious default settings and features. But as it is , meh for the Spectrum app (2 stars) and 4 stars for Roku.

Love it
Easy to hookup and setup. Signed up to the friendly network, I get all the channels I like and my wife gets the channels she likes. Cancelled Comcast Xfinity cable the next day. Bringing back all my boxes and remotes today. Oh the remote has the volume up and down on the side. It automatically recognized my Samsung TV as well. Between the friendly app and Roku app and Pluto we are all set! Only thing I will miss is my Bruins on NESN (will just listen to them on the radio)

Cut the cord with Roku
We purchased the ROKU sticks to get used to streaming and free TV along with subscription streaming. We were paying $248 per month for BASIC cable and Internet. Now we pay $70 per month for internet and use ROKU exclusively to watch free TV and we pay the equivalent of 1 month cable costs in an annual subscriptions for several premium channels. With streaming we bought a Nighthawk signal repeater and get better streaming from ROKU than our maxed out internet service with cable. We tried and waited out out cable contract and have gone full Roku and have no regrets. If you are into all the 24 hour cable news/opinion channels you won’t get those without a subscription. We actually feel less stressed turning on the TV without any local or broadcast news so it’s one of the best decisions we’ve made. We also purchased a ROKU TV which was affordable, came with ROKU services without an adapter. If you are on the fence make the investment and give it a try, we’re going to save so much money and enjoy the programming so much more.

Quick and fast start up less than 15 minutes
I was hesitant at first, because I had tried a Roku express to replace my d one, but it kept failing activation, and the software update when my old one started acting up, however today I received this device and was able to activate on my 15 minute break, the remote is very good as well you can use to adjust sound and cut tv on and off etc

Just Works
This is one example of an electronic device that just works, day in and day out. I own five or six Roku devices, from the Ultra to the cheapest Roku plug-in, and have them at multiple addresses. I especially like the fact that I can travel with one and pick up all of my prescribed channels and pickup where I left off at home. Good company, great service.

I bought this because, we lost a remote for our television. We are trying to eliminate cable boxes. This is a way. We plan to Ruku our way out if the expense for cable boxes and save the money. Spectrum is already to expensive. Finding a way to cut cost makes sense. Ruku and escape the cost of cable boxes and stream channels.

I got this to go on my living room TV, which is mounted on the wall. I have the Roku Ultra in the bedroom, but I wanted something smaller this time. This worked out great. It’s easily hidden behind the TV. The one thing that I would change is having to plug it in to an outlet. There’s yet another cord that I have to hide. If it could be powered thru the TV, that would be a huge improvement. With that being said, the device works perfectly. I’ve had no issues since setting it up. Like all Roku devices, it’s easy to set up and compatible with any TV with an open HDMI port. The streaming speed is great, but I have fiber internet, so your experience may be different.

Excellent, easy to use, streaming stick
Purchased the Roku Streaming Stick 4K on the recent Amazon Prime Day for only $29. I am extremely happy with this device, my first foray into streaming. The Quick Start Guide was clear, with easy to follow directions (video help is also available), and I was up and streaming in less than 15 minutes. I’ve added a number of apps, and now can enjoy a universe of options heretofore unavailable to me. I’ve found the menu and operation to be easy to use, and I especially like the voice activated search. The only thing that could be improved for my situation is if the apps icons/imbedded program icons could be resized – this because I have a small TV by today’s standards (43″). As I live in mountainous terrain, “local” network channels are not available using a HDTV antenna. Thus I’ve kept my cable subscription. However, with all the content choices via Roku, I’ve been able to reduce my cable TV pack, resulting in a savings of over $50/month. I’m one happy Roku user!

Love it
We had an old Samsung tv that is not a smart tv & we ordered this to be able to use the tv and not buy a whole new one. This saved us hundreds of dollars and it works like all of our other tvs. Super easy to install and great to use.

Roku stick is better then verizon cable site.
The installment and to set the Roku stick up was so easy and quick.its so much better then the Verizon cable.i get more on Roku then on Verizon.my verizon bill is $230 for just two boxes and no movie channels so now I installed the T-Mobile wifi for $65 a month and bought the Roku for just $35 and there’s so many free live channels and free apps with movies and tv shows and I’ll just pay for Netflix for $17 and Amazon prime $7 so the total each month would be $89 that’s it.if I would have known this years ago I would have bought it and saved alot of money.so I’m cutting off verizon and staying with the Roku stick stream 4k.

Easy set up
I have used this company’s products for years. Usually Wal-Mart has the better price, but not this time. Set up is easy. My only issue is that the “quick” buttons are random. If possible, Roku should send the remote with blank “quick” keys and a sheet of stickers to choose the channels you use most and an easy way to program the blank button to your personal favorite channel, like “Hulu,” “Netflix,” “Prime,” etc.

Works with KIA entertainment package
I recently purchased a KIA Carnival with the built in TVs. We had trouble using the car system to log into our various streaming sources. I heard mixed reviews about using a Roku in this situation but it has worked perfectly for us. We have been able to use it in a regular setting and the screen mirroring with both TVs (only need one Roku to do this).

Awesome
I decided to cut the cord, but my TV was not a Smart TV. Guess what? It is now! This will function with the soundbar & TV & control your volume with the remote. I have not noticed any buffing. With the design, this is an excellent value for the money.

Easy to use
I heard from a lot of people how great this Roku is. So I bought one and it just required me to put the stick in on the side of the TV. Very easy to set up. I liked it so well that I purchased another one for my other TV. More programming available using this product.

So far so good!
I recently just cut the cable TV cord & decided to see how I like streaming my TV viewing needs. A friend recommended adding a Roku device for streaming. So far it’s been really easy to use, especially considering that up until now, cable TV was all I was familiar with & I’m somewhat technically challenged!

Replacing and older version
Older version overheating…free HDMI 2 or 3 inch extension will be sent from ROKU, on request from their website. Recommend it. as unit plugged directly into TV tends to overheat. This version seems to be working just fine after going through the setup and arranging all the services I use again, to the locations on the menu where I am used to them. The one thing I dislike about both my previous one and this, is the auto shutoff when you pause what you are watching after 5 minutes or so and I haven’t been able to find a setting to prevent that from occuring.

Defective remote?
I was excited to purchase this Roku stick/remote combo in order to eliminate cable TV which was costing twice as much for fewer services. Took a bit to figure out installation and configuration but have enjoyed the service the device affords. I’m able to watch movies, programs and listen to music for free which makes the ROI on this one time purchase very much worth it.Now (July 2024), seven months after purchase and installation the voice remote stopped working. I’ve spent hours trouble shooting and researching why this has happened. Despite all the typical/usual ‘fixes’ – fresh batteries, un/reinstall, reboot, reset stick, confirm network configuration, etc. – nothing worked. A bit of online digging revealed that other users have experienced the same thing – remote inoperative after only 7 months. I checked with friends and family who currently use, or have used the Roku streaming devices and remote, and they have not had any trouble. So…bad batch of voice remotes that only last 7 months?Final solution ends up being the purchase ($20+tx through Roku direct; no shipping) of a replacement remote that ‘should’ work with the streaming stick 4K I have. Needless to say, this is a disappointment however I do recommend the device because users can save hundreds of dollars per year compared to cable, Dish or other TV options. If the replacement remote does not work, I will update this review. Thank you.

Pleasantly pleased
I was on the fence @ this purchase since I have multiple fire sticks but I am pleasantly pleased w this item. It unlocked a whole bunch of different free channels and I love the Roku system.

Glad I bought it!
As a long time big name satellite tv user, I am so glad to have switched to the Roku stick! Easy to set up and easy to use. Go through the settings to customize to your likes, ie; it kept turning off when I’d pause it for too long so I found in settings to change to never turn off. I am glad I bought it and I’m saving so much money per month! Never at a loss for something to watch, and you only pay if you want to.

better than firestick!
Just received and it’s working great! I have been dedicated to fire sticks for years. They have gotten so slow that I hated even turning it on. I was buying new ones every year to get slightly better performance. All the ads and suggestions on the fire stick just finally got to me.So far, this is running fine with all the streaming apps I need and the free channels are nice. I got rid of cable years ago because I was tired of paying broadcast fees. Between Roku free channels and frndly TV (for the older person in the house) this is way better than cable and much less. I will eventually be converting everything to Roku.

Great product
I have a number of these and they work well. Only thing I don’t like is Roku is now inserting promo shows at the top when you click the home button. No longer are the apps I put at the top there instead their promoted shows are. Just one more click to do.

God Bless Roku!! Never again SMART TV’s
I have had Roku’s for years but I mistakenly went with my “smart” TV.A year ago I picked up a 84”LG SMART TV for the family room, a 54” LG Smart TV for the bedroom. It worked ok and I lived with it…. but moving between apps is slow and there was frequent buffering.I upgraded my internet to 1G fiber and updated to a new TP Link Mesh. Both of my TV’s were direct wired to the mesh routers. It should be fast right!?!!Well … the buffering got worse and the app would hang forcing me to power cycle the TV.Exasperated and frustrated with the LG Smart software, I finally chose to go back home to Roku. I picked up 2 Streaming sticks. The problem was instantly solved and it is already not only so much faster, the picture quality is better, and there is zero buffering.I work in IT and I have to give props to Roku because the setup was incredibly easy!!The Roku paired with the TV seamlessly allowing me to control my TV volume. Setting up the streaming apps used QR codes and easy. The entire setup took me less than 10 minutes. If you are not a “techie” person, I absolutely recommend a Roku.

Wife loves it!
Wife has used ROKU for three years, and hated the little box. Loves the stick, as it is out of sight, and works perfectly. Would reccomend this to anyone that uses the ROKU box.

Works fantastic!
My wife needed to use Airplay to send videos from her Ipad, Iphone or Mac to the TV without a wire. I needed to make an old TV Smart so I ordered the Roku Streaming Stick 4K as it has built in ability to work with Airplay and Apple Homekit. To my surprise the Airplay worked flawlessly and it came with a side benefit of upgrading everything to 4K. My TV was only capable of 1080p but now everything comes in crystal clear 4K. Using Airplay also allowed the screen output to be full screen instead of a smaller view/ratio.I highly recommend this to anyone.

Easy setup and great selection of shows.
Being a spectrum customer I wanted to be able to use the spectrum app on my televisions. Unfortunately, the TVs I purchased only allowed apps from the GOOGLE store which didn’t carry the spectrum app.A simple solution was to plug in the Roku stick into an available HDMI port, turn on the television, set it up and within five minutes we had the spectrum app. We also have immediate access to Disney, prime video, Netflix and many other streaming channels. It’s even 4K so I see my sports channels in great definition. The price is right and this was one of my best purchases this year.

Easy to use
I needed a secondary streaming device because my Apple TV 4K became unusable after a firmware update. My Nvidia Shield 2019 remains my primary device, but it’s showing its age with increasing software issues. I desired Dolby Vision compatibility to take advantage of my LG OLED TV’s capabilities, and the device was on sale. I’m impressed by the device’s smooth user interface compared to older Roku models I’ve owned. It performs well with Dolby Vision content from Netflix and my personal Plex library.
