A great TV for an affordable price!
This Sony TV delivers a splendid visual experience for an affordable price.I wouldn’t call it massively color accurate, but the colors are vivid enough to make any scene stunning. That being said, settings for adjusting the colors and visual enhancements are available.Wifi works great out of the box and it supports 5G wifi. It was very easy to start streaming right away.Be careful when handling the TV, though – it’s fairly heavy.

If it didn’t have input lag – it would be 5 stars
This is a great TV at a great price.Picture quality is fantastic. The free channels included with Google TV (preinstalled) give a great selection if you don’t have a cable package or lots of streaming services.Casting from my apple devices works flawlessly. The one thing they screwed up bad on is the input lag. On the homepage (not some wildly RAM intensive App) the input lag between button press and reaction on the screen can be upwards of 20 seconds…sometimes not registering at all. Despite numerous software updates they have yet to fix it. This is the one major flaw with the TV, everything else is wonderful.

Catastrophic menu/interface lag and crashing. Completely unacceptable
Picture quality is great, sound is pretty good too for being integrated. Love the price for the TV overall.HOWEVER, I assumed a Google interface would be remotely acceptable to use and BOY was I wrong. The lag is a complete catastrophe – main menu, in YouTube, in Disney+, in Hulu, doesn’t matter. It seems like the TV does not have the operating power to load half the features it has, let alone the ads.I know that my “continue watching” is 4 down-button-clicks, and once I power on the TV I click it 4 times. It can be up to 30 or more FULL SECONDS (not an exaggeration. Literally. I have time to scroll social media) before it makes the noise indicating it knows I made an input and attempts to scroll – and often it won’t respond 4 times. And by the time I make it down to that option, sometimes it’s now loaded some other show in that spot and I end up clicking on something random. This happens all over the main menu – see a recommended YouTube video you want to watch? Good luck scrolling over to it before something else loads. To add to this, Disney+ and YouTube regularly crash in the middle of what I’m watching (especially Disney+), or act like I don’t have internet. No other device in my home has this issue and we have great internet. Each update it seems to get slower, too. I’m not sure if it’s just placebo and my frustration, but there have been at least 2 or 3 updates since I bought it and I think it’s going more downhill. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I am beyond annoyed with this TV but now I can’t get rid of it just to try a different one with a potentially worse user interface. I’m better off watching stuff on my laptop or phone where it’s easier to install adblockers and uninstall bloatware. Oh well.

No complaints. (Try my setup.)
I replaced a 10-year old 44″ Samsung, so of course the picture is much better (4K) and bigger and at less than half the price. The sound processor is better: I don’t use the TV speakers. I use the fiber optic output to my receiver for 5/6.1 surround sound. I did not hook it to the internet, and I use an over-the-air digital antenna for TV. For streaming video, I don’t use the built-in apps. The TV is connected to my computer via HDMI as a second monitor. I just drag a browser with YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, et al over to my TV and make it full screen. It looks and sounds fantastic.

Makes For A Solid 85″ HDTV Bargain
While I’ve had several plasmas and a potpourri of flatscreens I’ve never had an OLED. So, when I needed a HDTV for our pool house I was thinking about an OLED. With OLED I know it’s close to any current 2024 state of the art. But I could not rationalize spending more than for a 65″ OLED. I really didn’t want a 65″ HDTV for the pool house. I wanted a 85″ model. That was a bit of a problem too because 85″ quantum dot featuring local and/or mini LED dimming HDTVS (the kind that can stand up to OLED comparison) are in the 3K+ and up range. In my homes basement I have a 86″ LG with quantum dot tech and area LED dimming…but that one was around 2K a year ago when I got it. The current model by LG was a bit more. Enter Sony. I remember in the late seventies/early eighties the gold standard it TV was the Trinitron. Over the years Sony has risen and fell and they’re currently not just riding a rise, but continuing to ascend. This brought me to this HDTV. It’s the absolute lowest priced model by a major manufacturer for its size at the moment. And that combined with it being a Sony interested me. I pulled the trigger and I couldn’t be more pleased. I won’t go into the technical stuff, but I sat down after a slow setup and was blown away. This HDTV really delivers. It’s very bright with a wide angle of view. It is not one of those overly reflective screens that you have to juggle room lighting around which is a plus. In the end, though, it’s the resolution and color that wooed me. Just amazing considering the size and price. I may not be as critical as the videophiles that obsess over minutia, but I know what looks really impressive and right. This set looks impressive, it does colors right even out of the box, and at the price combined with the fact it’s a Sony. Well, I’m more than happy with this set. I do have a sound bar and for movies and music I highly recommend this as a required add-on. That’s about it.

Sony 43 Inch 4K Ultra HD TV X77L Series Review
For us, this was to upgrade from unsmart TV to a smart TV.We didn’t need a huge display, but not teeny tiny either. The 4K Ultra HD resolution and LED technology, delivers crisp and clear visuals, and was a huge step up for us. The HDR support enhances brightness and contrast, bringing out details in both dark and bright scenes. The integrated speakers provide decent audio quality with clear dialogue and sufficient volume. While lacking the depth and immersion of higher-end models, it adequately fills smaller rooms. While we can use the Google TV, which can offer most of the streaming apps needed, we use the apple tv with no issues and allows to keep everything syncing with our other apple devices.Overall, for us, this is one of the best value choices out on the market, plus the size is just right, in our single family/living room. The 4K Ultra HD visuals are more than enough for our typical TV watching needs. Nature shows and sporting events come through exceptionally well. Every TV needs some sound boost – we already had wireless speakers for our surround sound needs and they were easily paired.

Runs Streaming TV Apps Better Than Samsung
I purchased this SONY the same time as an equivalent Samsung for another room. The SONY runs YouTube TV and Hulu better than the Samsung. The Sony has a much better operating system (OS) and incorporates a clock while running the YouTube TV app Live Guide. The Sony settings are much more elaborate and have more options. The Samsung does not run the last app used on start-up, even though it claims to have that feature. Sony picture is much better as usual, so hands down the best pick for streamers and gamers. Sports picture quality is awesome.

My first 4K TV
I wanted a 32″ 4K TV, but they are rare and SONY had a model at $500+, so I had to go with this model which is a bit larger than what I needed. I had to make my own stand with wood blocks so that it could sit on my desk.I’ve only tried PS2 & PC output, and the PS2 had impressive picture & sound quality (improved by 50% if not more). 4K movies also were noticeably better. Before I bought this, I was using TOSHIBA’s non-4K HDTV that I bought in 2014, so I thought it was time to upgrade. The remote is surprisingly simple, as compared to the majority of today’s home appliances loaded with functions you never use. The sound has equalizer functions, which makes the sound a lot more lively. External speakers with can be connected as well. The only issue is that since this TV was larger than my previous 32″ TOSHIBA, it sits high on my desk so I have to sit further away from it.Now, I’m not sure if this is a genuine SONY product. It could have been designed & built in China or Taiwan as an OEM product. ALL Japanese electronics & home appliance companies went south, as their management have seriously failed to keep up with today’s fast-paced trend, added by the dysfunctional government that seems to want to destroy Japan.

Great Smart TV
Wanted a replacement smart TV for our very old LCD TV. I liked that this is a Google TV so it has lots of app support. TV was fairly easy to set up, though never got the phone app to work properly so had to set it up manually (not a big deal really). Picture and sound are great. Starts up fast. I have no problems.

First TV we bought without going on location. It is wonderful. Very big, so make room for it. Only downside, I think it should have a leg for the middle for better support. It’s too big for only 2 legs. The color is wonderful.

I don’t know what to think
I bought this television because I already have an older version from two years ago. I bought this television because I like its updates, the clarity, the speed and the programs that I can use. The first few days the TV worked perfectly for me until a vertical black line appeared across the entire screen. I’m still thinking about whether or not to return this TV because I won’t find it at the same price I paid for it on BlackFriday.

Nice TV for the money
One caveat, If you are installing a wall mount, the Sony manual does not mention the 4 spacers that screw into the back of the TV after you take out the 4 M5 screws. The spacers screw down into those holes and have M6 nut barrels that take M6 screws. The spacers are provided with the tv.

The Price Is Right
I paid $418 for a 43-inch Sony TV, 2023 model, and for this price, it’s a 5-star TV.The feet are 28 inches apart, and I am using this a table-top TV, and my table isn’t that wide, so I simply bought legs here at Amazon that attach to the screw holes you’d utilize if you were hanging the TV on the wall. I went with Amazon ASIN B07MZ7M13M … and it works perfectly. The TV picture is great after you customize the Picture settings to your liking. The speakers are at the bottom, unlike the over-$1,000 OLED Sony models where the sound comes from all over the screen itself. Thus, the small speakers shooting out of the bottom of the TV are not all that impressive. One can fix this by buying a soundbar, of course. For just regular TV programming, like the news or network shows, the sound is fine. There is a setting where you can have the TV try to simulate Surround Sound, so give that a try and see if you hear an improvement to a movie or show you’re watching. The remote control is okay. It does not illuminate. You have the option to buy an ungraded Sony remote that does illuminate, of course. The factory remote does have the Google microphone button, so you can hold it down and activate the Google Assistant. If you are looking for a 43-inch TV at a low price, this is the TV to consider.

Good Android TV, bezel came cracked
Great android TV; can make it nice and dumb and remove all the built in adware that google likes to push on their products. Quite glad Sony allows you to go in and do that and they don’t just lock you out of the settings for your own TV. You get a simple UI; boots directly to your HDMI port/whatever you have plugged in. The default remote does come with the obnoxious shortcuts to got to whoever paid enough to get their streaming service a button, but you can pair any you want over bluetooth which is awesome.Packaging might need some work on the upper corners, which is surprising given how thorough it seems especially around the bottom. There was a crack in the top right of the bezel which is a little frustrating. Would’ve been full 5 stars if not for the crack.

Decent Picture. Slow Google Interface. No Dolby Vision Support.
Let me preface my comments by saying that I am a devoted Sony customer and have several Sony home theater and audio components in my home.I purchased this 43 inch Sony Bravia TV so my son could watch it occasionally instead of commandeering my living room 65 inch Sony when I’m trying to watch something like a live sporting event. For the purposes of providing a decent picture, the Sony 43 inch is adequate but doesn’t come close to the stunning picture quality of the older Sony X950H in the living room, which unlike the 43 inch Bravia supports Dolby Vision. The processor on the 43 inch Bravia also seems to lag significantly when using the Google interface sometimes taking up to a minute or more to actually appear on screen. Luckily, I have an Apple TV 4k connected to the TV, so I don’t have to deal with the frustrating lag of Google interface on the Bravia. It should be noted that the older 65 inch Bravia doesn’t have this lag problem and both TVs are getting more than adequate network throughput speed from my EERO mesh routers. Finally, unlike other manufacturers, Sony never divulges the firmware update version that has (if it ever is) downloaded to the TV and never indicates whether any firmware (software) has been installed on a specific date. As a result the user simply has no idea if Sony is ever offering a firmware update to the TV or not…and sadly must assume that Sony never really updates the TV’s firmware after the set has been purchased. For a company that prides itself on its engineering prowess and making impressive televisions, especially for picture quality, this is a glaring omission and a signal to its customers that they just don’t need to know these petty details. One must also assume that the Sony engineers will never provide a firmware update to the 43 inch X77L to support Dolby Vision or any other enhancements or improvements (lag fixing the lag issue on the Google interface…which should concern the folks at Google). So, if you want a pleasant viewing experience, connect an Apple TV 4k to the Sony X77L and also connect some external speakers (I’ve connected a pair of NOTABRICK Bluetooth speakers that are recognized by the Apple TV 4k set top box) and provide much better sound than what the 43 Bravia can do on its own. Just don’t expect a phenomenal picture or Dolby Vision support or any firmware updates from the Sony team. Do better, Sony.

Very disappointing
I waited six months to write this to make sure I had enough time to give an accurate review. I give this TV a C- . As I’m writing this, I’m finally able to watch a show after unplugging/re-plugging the TV several times and turning it off and on several times. Apps don’t seem to like this TV —they crash constantly. Sometimes they won’t launch at all and sometimes they crash in the middle of a show. I honestly never know when I turn the TV on if I am actually going to be able to sit and watch a show. There are short stretches when the TV works fine, but to borrow a line from Forrest Gump, this TV is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you’re gonna get. Voice command works sometimes but most often it does not. I often get an error message that the TV can’t connect to Wi-Fi, but when I check the signal from the TV settings, the signal is strong. I’ve reset my modem several times. I’ve bought a wi-fi extender. The problems continue. I never had these issues with any of my other TVs. This is my first (and last) Sony. Fortunately, I have a 55” TCL that consistently works great. All in all, this was a very disappointing purchase.

You get what you pay for
The picture is very clear and nice and the size of the TV is great. Very easy to set up. The TV legs are flimsy though and the TV says with pretty small movements. Would definitely caution if you have small children. Better to have it mounted. The apps seem to glitch about every other day and I can’t stream cable (Spectrum) from it because it doesn’t have the app.

Hard to Please:-)
When it comes to electronics, I’m very hard to please. But this product was far and beyond my expectation’s. I purchased the 65 in model for a large bedroom and works perfectly. The delivery was very fast, and the product was delivered with firstclass service by Amazon. The picture clarity is amazingly amazing- This google tv is very smart, but be prepared to set up a Google account during start up. However, I made one specifically for the tv itself. Trust me, you will not regret this purchase for the price. I recommend this product for anyone looking for upgrade or just want to add to a large room. Thanks for reading my review. and I hope this is helpful.

We now have purchased 3 Sony Bravia TVs.
The oldest one is from 2009 and still going strong, with a great picture. The older one is heavy, though! This one is a bit smaller than the one in our living room. I use it in my exercise room for watching workouts either on DVD or a streaming service. It’s perfect! I love the picture, and the whole remote situation is much better than it was in 2009. The TVs actually do seem to be “smarter” now. You can’t go wrong with a Sony Bravia!

Best 55″ TV I ever own.
We have a 50″ 4K TLC for two years and it crap out. Out of desperation, we bought this Sony; largely based on Sony’s brand reputation, and it does not disappoint! Comparing to the previous 4K TV, the clarity and color are just in different league. It’s definitely worth the extra few dollars.

Sony quality is great, Google’s the built in1984 camera, mic, invasion of privacy SUCKS!!!Update,The screen is un-usually fragile or made very cheaply. TV was tilted facing to far down on the bracket so I went to pull it up just a bit and the srceen cracked an TV shut off. TV just 6 months old, now unusable $1,000 for nothing. I have a Sony tv in every room in my home and I have never seen a screen break so easily! Very disturbing and disappointed! The x80 line is awesome! However, I do not like this new 77l line the spy on you crap has increased and quality / picture has definitely decreased.

Nice for the price!
If you want to feel like you’re in a movie theater, this is the 85in TV for you. Interface is like all the others…easy to use. TV pic is sometime-y. You have to play with the settings to get the picture right! It has a google interface to it, which I never use anyway. Set up seemed easy. It took about 20 minutes for the techs to hang it on the wall. Make sure you get the exact wall-hanger that goes with this huge TV. Do not compromise on the size. The sound quality is ok, so you might want to invest in a sound bar if you like loud surround sound with a lot of bass. If you choose to pat for in-house service where the delivery people deliver inside your home, make sure they are two people coming to that job. It’s very heavy. All in all, the TV is fine and do not cost a lot of money for the purpose of watching TV.

Sony Bravia quality at an astoundingly low price
This tv replaced a slightly smaller, wall mounted 2014 Sony Bravia, which gave us an opportunity to compare picture quality, sound, ease of remote use, etc. It was a real eye opener. It might be odd to start with the remote, but honestly, my husband can’t stop talking about it. Easy to use and logical placement of the buttons made it a hands down winner. As for the tv, the new screen (which, to be fair, has a higher resolution than a 2014 model) has a sharp, crystal clear image. The speakers are strategically placed to direct sound beautifully, so much so that the new tv’s sound set at 26 was louder (using same video for comparison) than the older model set at 42. Instructions were clear; tv mounted quickly on the wall by one person. Google walked us through the installation in about 10 minutes. Spent the most time trying to decide which screen lighting we liked the best. Opted for the brighter at this time.Between the price and the quality, I don’t feel you can go wrong with this model. It’s a great tv for a smaller family room/kitchen area. FWIW, we have a 65 inch OLED Sony in the living room. Surprisingly, the picture quality isn’t that different.Anyway, I would definitely recommend this tv. I haven’t read the other reviews, but in my humble opinion, what’s not to love?

More Sony’s than a feathered bird!
Got a Sammie 4-5 years ago for the den. Never felt really satisfied because the picture wasn’t “SHARP AS A RAZOR ”. I’ve only found great clarity/definition in Sony TV’s. So, I parked the still playing Sammie in the back bedroom, and got this puppy, {55″} even though it is an entry level, to see that Sony Magic once again! It’s there, but not as sharp as my other 2017, 65″model, but pretty darn close! I can now see the wrinkles in the News Casters faces, even though CGI is used to make um’ look younger! Yes, Photographs can lie afterall. Hmmm?I picked the X77L over the X80k because it is a 2023 model, the X80k a 2022. The comparison side by side shows the 77 has a brighter picture, sharper picture even though the X80k has more features! For my den I just want the best picture, and I think I got it! Even though not all the bells and whistles this X77L is newer than any other TV in my house by 4-5 years!Back to streaming in HDR, and local OTA TV looks pretty darn good too! Tweak for an hour or two and Voila! Yer home free!

Excellent Sony picture.
The picture on this television is excellent, it’s very close to my much more expensive Sony 85K series gaming television. The interface can be a big buggy at times and since purchasing in December of 2023 I’ve had to physically unplug the television twice due to it locking up. Other than that I am extremely happy with it as a bedroom television and would buy again.

These tv’s are awesome
Some of the reviews had me worried, but so glad I bought these. I bought an 85in and 55in and they’re so awesome. The interface is so much better than my chrome cast with google tv dangles that I’ve been using.
